IRC Client Settings

If you would like to use your own IRC client and are confident in setting it up, enter the below information into your IRC client:

Port: 6667
Channel: #Rift

Unofficial webIRC

The unofficial webIRC will connect community members to the unofficial #Rift IRC channel. The webIRC is ideal for community members who are behind firewalls, at work or simply not familiar with using a IRC client.

Please remember to change your nick by entering a new one in the "Change nick to" text box in the bottom right hand corner. Alternatively you may use the command:

/nick <new nickname>
Most Often Used IRC Commands

To register your nickname use the command:
/reg <nickname> <password> [email protected]
Once you have filled out the needed information, please check the email address that you've inputted to NickServ. It will have a cookie that you need to use to activate your account fully.

To change your nick use the command:
/nick <new nickname>
To perform an emote use the command:
/me <type your emote>

Auto Perform

Both mIRC and IceChat can auto perform the commands to join channels when you connect. In mIRC, this is called Perform and in IceChat its called Auto Perform.

Copy and paste the below commands into your IRC client's perform or auto perform settings with replacing <nick> and <password> with your login details:

/ns auth <nick> <password>
/join #Rift
