Toon naming procedure? - Heroes of Telara

I'm trying to fliip the switch here and get away from the Trion bashing for a day or two so here goes:

What is the method to your madness when it comes to naming toons on MMO's? Do you always use the same name? Do you consider how much work others must go through to type out your special characters???

I have had a Nibn on every game I have ever played. Also a Nius. Enfuego on Vanguard.

I tend to keep my names veery short and easy to spell and quick to type. I despise the names that are 50 key strokes long or in WoW, the guys that use special characters that you have to code to use. I refuse to type it out ever. I tend to use 4 or 5 letters only so that my name is typed out rather than shortened.

Lets face it; Hamagalsmyth is only gonna be known as Ham his/her entire MMO lifetime. Especially in raids where time to type is not aplenty.

So whats your posion?

eta: If anyone steals Grond before I get it I'm going to throw a flaming sack of crap on your front porch....

eta2: I also never ever use a surname. Kinda like Cher or Madonna. Well except for one toon on EQ1 I named Whoopee DeCushion. He is still around on Seventh Hammer.

LOL,

My name is pretty simple, I take my grandfathers name butcher it to latin reditions, so it is always going to be Artorus, or Arturien, or Arturian.

I also take some old english and combine for the last name Giltanus which when combined means smart ass.

I never liked trying to figure out names for my characters. Could never figure out good names. So I keep the ones I have used in other games before. But really I never liked playing more then one character. I would have alts but only one character ever got to max level and was my main all the time. So he keeps the same name each game for my main character.

But when and if i do try and create new characters i usually try to keep them short and find a name that fits the character I plan on making.

Raive is Raive and always wille be Raive. I've had fun surnamesl ike Mooshi cuz me and Vanny like moos so...but I'm still Raive and that's how I roll.

I have always had a Bixie in mmorpgs, from EQ onwards, and a Vesavius... Which one as main and which as alt changes tho. I rarely go more then 1 alt except to act as mules.
