Via TelaraSource, MMOGamer.com has a short and sweet interview with Trion VP Russ Brown on the topic of Heroes of Telara. While nothing new is revealed it still gives good insight into the game.

Yeah, a little new info there about the leveling system which is cool. The Fighter-Paladin and Cleric-Paladin example is a bit dated though but us fanatics know the truth.

It sure seems like an E3 interview that was sat on until October...

HoT keeps getting more and more interesting; I really like the randomness factor as presented in the merchant example. This ensures 'leveling' zones will always be candidates for surprises, and not become memories of the past once the general population has leveled up.
Also, unlocking abilities in the subclasses while leveling sounds interesting; although I would like some sort of Talent trees for general class advancement - otherwise there's always the risk of being forced into certain subclasses depending on playstyle. All in all, HoT sounds more interesting than WoW is atm, and if they can deliver polish on their product I think it will be a surprise launch for MMORPG industry. |

Nice little article. I especially like the the info on sub-classes. I didn't remember reading about that, so it was a good refresher for me.
I really hope HoT can change the MMO game a bit, because we all know how much it needs it.Quote:
This is one of the reasons why I'm liking HoT. No waiting 5 years for an expansion to update the old game world so you can use your flying mount...Yeah WoW I'm looking RIGHT AT YOU!

I'm with Cio on this, this feels like a very dated interview as the same questions were posed then. I'm not so sure.

Things have, of course, developed since then. This is the peril of people not publishing interviews for a looooong time.
